Tanzanite is relatively rare and costly, occurring in only one place in the world, the Merelani Hills in Tanzania, East Africa. It was discovered in 1967 and is named for its country of origin. It is not especially durable and should be worn with care.
Tanzanite generates an energy of happiness and relief from worries, allowing insight into emotional issues without the need to dwell on them unnecessarily. It inspires one in feeling more compassionate, loving and centered.
